We're married!
Thank you for visiting our wedding web site. We were married on March 28th 2009 at St Peter's Chapel just north of Hercules, CA! The wedding was amazing (in our opinions), and we hope everyone that attended had a great time. Thank you to everyone that was able to make it, or that just sent your best wishes. We are looking forward to a long and happy married life together. Please visit our photo gallery to see pictures of our big day.

Our Story
Here is a brief story of how we came together. In April of 2006, I started a new contracting job in Concord, CA. The company was small, the work was not great, but the people were generally nice. As always though, when I'm on the job, I pretty much just put on my headphones and listen to music and do my work. For the most part, I would say "hi" and "bye" to people on my way in and out of the office. But besides that, there wasn't much interaction with the other employees. A short while after I started my job there, Raminder started her job there. I had noticed her when she started working there, but as usual, I just kept to myself and did my work. After all, I'm a contractor, I don't spend much time at a company and don't make many permanent friends while working on contracts. I'd say we had been working together for maybe 5 months, and we were just acquaintances. Nothing more then "hi" and "bye" and the occasional conversations about projects at work. It wasn't until we got out of the office together, on a business trip, and then we really connected. And once we connected, the connection was strong, and it got stronger every day. The business trip was scheduled to last around 6 days. But Raminder had worked it out so that she was staying an extra few days (with no extra costs). Since we were getting closer and closer every day, she talked me into staying a few extra days as well. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to help me with a place to stay, so I had to stay (and pay) on my own. It was well worth the money though! Each day, we grew closer, and got to know each other better. After the trip was over and we returned home, we exchanged home phone numbers and other information. At this point, and much to my surprise, my contract came to an abrupt end just days after returning from the trip. Thankfully though, we had already exchanged information and kept in touch. We have been together ever since!
The Ring
So, picking the ring turned out to be pretty difficult. Of course, I wanted to surprise Raminder with the ring, and have the proposal be a complete surprise. But, I also didn't want to pick a ring she wouldn't like. So, we went window shopping for a ring a number of times. We found some stuff we liked, and some stuff we really didn't like. This is where it started getting difficult. Every time we went ring shopping, it seemed that Raminder would change her mind about the size/style/cut etc of the rings she liked. So, after going together over 5 times and constantly changing what we were looking at, I think that I just decided it would be best to get the ring together. So, we went to look together yet again. We found some things we liked again, but nothing really stood out to us as the "right" ring. Luckily, while in the jewelers, we found out that they were having a loose stone and settings event. Basically, that means that they were going to have lots of settings available without already having the center stone in it. And they were going to have lots of loose diamonds to choose from too. So, you are able to pick a setting and then pick the stone that goes in it. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to get the ring we wanted the way we wanted it. When we came to the event, we looked for a while and we each found some settings we liked. One of them though, stood out to the both of us. And so we grabbed it and started looking at different diamonds to put in it. After a while, we found a few stones we liked and had to decide which to get. I liked the bigger stone, while Raminder tried to talk me into the smaller stone. Really, she was just trying to save me some money by trying to get the smaller stone, and I love her for it. But, I just couldn't get over the way that the smaller stone looked in the setting, so I insisted that we got the bigger one. From here, it was just a matter of trying to get a good price from the jeweler and waiting for it to get finished. When we got the ring, I think we were both very happy with how it turned out.
The Proposal
The proposal ended up nothing like how I wanted it to be. But, it was still an amazing moment for me (and I hope for her). For the proposal, I wanted to do something grand! Something big! Something that would be romantic, and special to the both of us. So, my first idea was to take Raminder back to Las Vegas and do something really special. I thought this would be romantic, because it's where we really connected for the first time. But, unfortunately, it's really hard for Raminder to get time off of work and it's also not very easy to escape anywhere alone since we have a 6 year old daughter. And it would have also been hard to convince Raminder to just up and go to Vegas for a weekend without any sort of explanation. So, with those few road blocks, I scrapped that idea. I had kept thinking of things, but nothing seemed like it would work out. Too hard to find the time or justify the expense, etc. So I didn't pursue any of them very much. So, I had the ring for months and months without having proposing yet. I think at this point, Raminder started to think that I just wasn't ready to get married or was scared or who knows what she was thinking. So, I finally got tired of waiting, and couldn't wait anymore. So, in the end, I ended up just asking her to marry me at home, in our living room. I pulled her over to the couch, sat her down, got down on one knee, pulled out the ring, and asked her to spend the rest of her life with me. Luckily for me, she said yes! Now it was on to the wedding planning!
